Lalico's Organic Vegan Butter
Based on the original vegan butter
recipe developed by Miyoko Schinner. Lalico's Butter is a
response to Miyoko's Butter being no longer available in the
marketplace. After losing her company, Miyoko Schinner
graciously shared her popular recipe with the world. As a
life-long culinary advocate and epicurean activist, "
Miyoko has
worked tirelessly for over thirty years to reimagine a food system
built on sustainability, equity, and compassion for animals. Her
popular cookbooks, products, and thought leadership have inspired
people across the globe to reconsider their food choices and take
personal joy and responsibility in helping to participate in a
better food system. Her lifelong compassion for farmed
animal justice led her to found Rancho Compasión, a Bay Area
animal sanctuary and humane education center for youth."

Lali Ghlonti-Bankston, a
retired chef and fan of Miyoko's Butter, inspired by Miyoko's story
decided, like many other people, to make her own version of the
popular vegan butter when Miyoko released her recipe to the
public She took Miyoko's original recipe and as an homage to
Miyoko, named her version of this butter, Lalico's Butter. While
the ingredients are few, the method is far from simple. Lali worked
with the recipe until she mastered the intricacies of the culinary
chemistry involved while adding her own special twist to the
product.
Lalico decided to share
her butter with select individuals as a cottage industry. Lali
produces her butter in small, hand-made batches. She uses only
organic ingredients.
